Recently, a mom shared that her son
has very few friends and he is totally
ok with that.
One day, some kids rang the bell
to find out if he wanted to come hang
with them at the park.
He said “no thank you.”
They proceeded to call him names.
He just shut the door and went back to
what he was doing.
She was worried
for his self-esteem.
I told her not to worry.
He could have easily caved in
to avoid being labeled and to win friends.
He didn’t! He stood his ground!
He knew what the kids did
at the park, and he wanted no part of that.
And obviously, he knew they were
not his friends because friends would
not call you names just because
you don’t do what they do.
This young man is quite happy
with his own activities.
He has friends there.
They train together;
attend events together;
have common goals;
basically, he was saying,
“mom, I am ok!”
HIS ESTEEM IS IN TACT!!!
This is what the Martial Arts is about;
building self-esteem, strong character
discipline and self-defense; not just
kicking and punching.
Not many kids have this.
If you have a child you know would
not have just “closed the door” and
that worries you, the Martial Arts
is for them.
We want to make it easy for you.
