The main goals of the Youth Karate classes are to teach the full Amerikick karate curriculum, develop skilled martial arts leaders and well rounded human beings. The ages range from 7-12 and include beginner, intermediate, advanced and black belt levels.
The Youth Karate curriculum includes a variety of traditional styles in addition to more contemporary modern martial arts. Your child will learn the kicks of Tae Kwon Do, the hand strikes of Boxing and Kung Fu, the blocks and punches of Shotokan, the self defense of Kenpo and the take downs and ground defense of Judo. The Youth Karate curriculum also includes Sport Karate training, weapons training, extreme martial arts, sparring and kickboxing training. All these components have been selected and designed over the past 40 years of Amerikick to give your child the best training on their journey to Black Belt.
Our Kid's Karate classes Develop:
From the very first class, your child will learn the importance of eye contact, posture, and active listening skills that will benefit them not only in Karate but at home, on the playing field, and of course, at school. Both teachers and parents often notice the dramatic difference in children who study the Martial Arts. Your child will be more focused with school and homework.
When confronted, a child’s first option should be to get away; fighting should be the very last resort. It is a myth that the Martial Arts fosters aggressiveness in children. On the contrary, with continuous training, there are natural increases in a child’s confidence, discipline and self-control.
The Martial Arts instills discipline in students by requiring full attention in class, refraining from unruly behavior, the importance of arriving on time and being prepared. Students are also taught to follow instructions and not interrupt instructors. Kids are expected to keep uniforms and other items clean and organized.
Many parents enroll their children in Martial Arts to boosts their confidence, self-esteem and feeling of self-worth. Kids put forth their best effort, defend themselves, recognize their own potential and believe in their abilities. Because of their own efforts, there is a feeling of pride with each rank advancement.
Nothing does a better job at teaching the “old school” values of respect and courtesy. Martial Arts training teaches children to answer in a respectful manner to instructors (“Yes Sensei” or “No Sensei”), bow when entering and leaving the dojo, tag hands before sparring, stand straight before class begins and raising hands to answer or ask a question.
At a very early age, Martial Art students are encouraged to set long term goals. The most obvious goal is reaching the rank of Black Belt. The Martial Arts instills indomitable spirit so children never give up on their dreams. Learning to set goals encompasses the life experiences of a Martial Arts student.
“Childhood obesity has more than doubled in children and tripled in adolescents in the past 30 years.” (CDC, 7/2013). “Two-thirds of U.S. adults are overweight or obese.” (Flegalet al., 2012). We hear about it all the time. Did you know that in many cases, the bad lifestyle habits that lead to obesity start in childhood and can get worse over time? Fortunately, the Martial Arts help families avoid falling into these statistics by teaching healthy lifestyles and fitness early on. The Martial Arts improve flexibility, endurance, balance, agility, strength and motor skills.
Above all, it’s so much FUN!
Now I can Say It Was The BEST Decision I've made in a Very Long Time!
I am in love with this place and the people that works here!
After thinking about it for quite some time and looking into a lot of martial arts schools in the area, I decided to sign up my oldest son for Karate classes in this location. Now I can say it was the best decision I've made in a very long time, my son loves his class and not only him but my youngest decided to try it too and now they are both more than happy with their instructors.
They know very well how to deal with kids and the lessons are so much fun for both kids and parents.
This place is amazing, I sign up myself for KB classes and this is the only work out that I am looking forward to do every single day. Can't get enough of it...and the instructors.... Oh la la!
You don't know what is like to get your ass kicked and love every single second of it until you've tried a rise class with Ms. Carrie or a KB class with Ms. Ada.

My 8 Year Old Has Taken Class at Amerikick for 4 Year...
My 8 year old has taken classes there for four years and I have begun taking classes this year. The entire experience has been exceptional, from the facilities, to the front desk to the senseis and curriculum. They offer a vast array of classes for all age groups and the senseis especially are very adept at handling from 3/4 year olds, who can be difficult at times, to 50 year olds. They offer many helpful seminars as well as opportunities for families and children to get together. I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking to learn martial arts for themselves or their children.
